Keys for Kids Ministries is developing a daily teen devotional! We’re currently looking for content for a sample copy to use to get feedback from beta readers and teen ministries that will further aid us in forming a blueprint for the devotional. Accepted pieces may also appear in the actual devotional once it launches.
Below are the current writer’s guidelines for the teen devotional. Since this project is still in development, these guidelines may change, but right now we’re inviting both teens and adults to submit devotional pieces that fit a variety of forms and genres. If you’d like to be added to the list of writers interested in receiving updates on the teen devotional, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Writer’s Guidelines for Teen Devotional
Submit a gospel-centered devotional piece of around 350 words—whether it be essay, poem, personal story, fiction, or other written art form. Connect God’s story with any topic you see in the world. How does Jesus fit into what you are wondering about, writing about, or experiencing?
• a group of 1-10 verses for people to read before the devotion
• up to 5 discussion questions for after the devotion (optional verse references for guidance may be included)
• a key verse—what is the Bible verse you want people to walk away remembering?
• key thought—what is the message of your devotional piece, distilled to 3-7 words?
Please send teen devotional submissions to email@example.com.
$30 on acceptance
DO I HAVE TO BE A TEEN TO SUBMIT?
Authors must be at least 13 years old. If you are not a teenager, we welcome your submissions (and the wisdom your age brings), asking only that you consider your audience carefully. How does your devotional piece add gospel-centered value to our teen readers?
PLEASE NOTE: Content submitted must be original. We are not able to republish content that has appeared in its current form in another publication or that has been posted on the web (such as a personal blog post). Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
