Could you pay for my nails or my hair?

Posted on 5/3/2017 by Greg Yoder

It’s prom season. Countless schools around the country are holding these special events. It’s tradition. While the beautiful dresses and handsome tuxedos bring out the best in our kids, it can also bring out the worst. What do I mean? Well, immodesty, immorality, greed, coveting—all of these can be issues. As parents, we can have an impact in changing these bad situations into positive ones. For the gals, make sure the dresses fit your moral standards. Don’t let the culture dictate how your son or daughter looks. Stand firm. Don’t commit to paying for everything. Make them earn it or pay for some of it at least. And put a stop to any envious or immoral behavior. James 4:7 says, “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” (ESV).
