I just don’t have anything in common with my kids

Posted on 11/5/2016 by Greg Yoder

At one point in my family, we had four ladies in the house—and me. I felt like an island. The girls had inside jokes. Things that were funny to me weren’t necessarily funny to them. And TV shows like Say Yes to the Dress just pushed me to the man cave for football, basketball, and hockey. There were times when I felt like such an outsider that I wondered if they even liked me. Do you find yourself wondering, “Do I have anything in common with my kids?” As parents, we’ve got to FIND things. Guys, go outside and throw a football and shoot some basketball. Ladies, shopping is almost always fun for you. And, never let these moments go without talking about faith.
