HOW ABOUT YOU
Can you think of a time when you had the chance to help out a neighbor? Did you do it?
CHECK THIS OUT
(Read Luke 10:25-37) Maybe you've heard the phrase "Love your neighbor as yourself" before. It's a law that's repeated nine times in the Bible! But one time, Jesus was asked how we could know who our "neighbors" are--and, what it meant to "love them?"
Jesus answered with a story of a guy who got robbed as he was out walking. The sad thing was a couple of people saw the guy all beaten up and lying on the side of the road, but no one stopped to help him--except for one good Samaritan.
The Samaritan took care of the guy, took him to a hotel and paid for him to get better. In short, the Samaritan treated the guy who got robbed like a neighbor even though he had never met him before that day.
Now it's your turn to find your own neighbors and get involved with helping them. Your neighbors might not be victims of crime, but they could be elderly people in your town who need some help around their house or their grass cut.
Or, you could find "neighbors" in your own house, like a younger sibling who needs some extra help with their homework. You could offer to do it for free (just to be a good neighbor)!
