This is such a good reminder of what our attitudes should be like when we feel tempted to believe that the most important thing is what people think of us. This will cause us to do and say what the person next to us wants us to do and say just to please them, and that can be very dangerous. At the same time, it DOESN'T mean its ok to act like a jerk and then say, "oh well, I don't really care what that person thinks of me anyway." No, God calls us to be a "servant of Christ" as Paul puts it. And to do that, we have to love and be a servant of those people around us--not necessarily doing or saying everything that they want, or even everything that WE want, but what's best for them and what Jesus wants!
