Things are changing
DOWN GILEAD LANE. Some changes are accompanied by celebration, or a time of grateful reflection (like a mayoral inauguration and high school graduation)! And then there are the kinds of changes that bring growing pains (like learning to ride a bike)! What will our friends on Gilead Lane do when those pains seem to be too much? It's a fun look back, and a wonderful lesson about embracing the future.
How about you

Jesus had a half-brother that he grew up with named James. James wrote a letter to some of the first Christians who had been scattered all over the world. They had faced a LOT of changes and difficulties in following Jesus, and what do you think was the FIRST thing James told them in his letter? Well, take a look:
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:2-4
The next time you face change and difficult circumstances, just remember the words of James. Remember that God wants you to persevere, to be mature and complete; and "trials" are the only way to get there!
