Haley came up with great idea on how to treat the workers on Gilead Lane. Her idea is based on how Jesus wants us all to treat others. Showing love is easy when other people are being nice to us, but how can we show God's love to those who say angry words, who do awful things or who are just plain mean to us?
How About You?
Have you ever prayed for someone who acts like a bully in school? Have you ever done something nice for someone who never seems to smile?

When you meet a person, you have two choices, you can be kind to that person, or you can hurt them with your words and your attitude. Jesus challenged us to be kind to all people whether they are nice to us or not!
In Matthew 5:43-45, Jesus says:
"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven."
To be one of God's children is to show His kindness: to show gentleness to a bully, to pray for an angry neighbor who lives on your block or to share a smile with someone who doesn't know about God's love.
How many people go through life never experiencing kindness? Without experiencing kindness, it becomes very hard to express kindness toward others too. We need to change that by showing God's love, God's joy and God's peace to every person that we meet. And we know that anyone who experiences God's love will be changed forever.
