I can’t help but wonder what Mary and Joseph were thinking when they discovered they would be raising the Messiah, the Son of God. They must have thought the sins of this world would be addressed and evil would disappear. Maybe they thought Jesus would defeat the evil around them, and He would sit on the throne in their lifetime.
As we look to 2023, I can’t help but think about how many kids, teens, and families—perhaps in Nepal, Pakistan, Ukraine, or even in North America—will hear the Gospel message for the first time over Christmas and New Year. We know what the birth of Jesus meant, and the good news is we can share Jesus with families like these who haven’t heard of His redeeming gospel.
