October 11, 2024, Keys for Kids Ministries took a step of faith and sent over 7,000 Keys for Kids and Unlocked devotionals, Spanish devotionals, picture books, and other resources to families affected by the devastating hurricanes in North Carolina and Florida. That’s nearly $40,000 worth of materials. We need your support NOW to help cover these costs and each gift is being matched dollar-for-dollar up to $20,000.
On September 27, 2024, Hurricane Helene made a devastating landfall along the coast of Florida, unleashing destructive winds, torrential rains, and widespread flooding. From Florida to North Carolina and Tennessee, homes were destroyed, communities were displaced, and power outages affected thousands. The storm caused severe damage to infrastructure, leaving many families without basic necessities or hope for a quick recovery.
As relief efforts were underway, on October 9, 2024, Hurricane Milton followed closely behind, making its landfall in Florida. The back-to-back storms have left countless families reeling from destruction, struggling to rebuild and regain a sense of normalcy.
In partnership with Chapel Point Church in West Michigan, who is sending food, water, clothing, personal care items, and more physical assistance, Keys for Kids Ministries is providing spiritual resources to help families who have lost everything. $100 helps 20 young people and families get resources to address spiritual questions.
These resources have impact. In 2017 during Hurricane Harvey in Houston, Texas, a single mother received the picture book Braving the Storm along with her relief assistance. She was also invited to the local church. She took the book back to the community center and read it to her daughter. As she was reading, she had so many questions about why God allows bad things to happen. She decided to go to the church to get answers. After much conversation she gave her heart to Christ. What was intended for a child, moved an adult's heart to faith in Jesus.
