LOCAL NONPROFIT HIRES NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Greg Yoder is Hired; Terre Ritchie Retires
Grand Rapids, Mich., Aug. 1, 2015—After working for Mission Network News (a division of Cornerstone University) as anchor and executive director for nearly 20 years, Greg Yoder was appointed executive director of Keys for Kids Ministries by the nonprofit’s board of directors.
“We had a variety of excellent candidates to consider, so the process was challenging,” Board President Duane Culver says. “After much prayer and discussion, we feel that we made a wise decision by choosing to hire Greg for this important ministry leadership position.”
Yoder's passion for missions was one reason he applied for the position. He hopes to use that passion in leading Keys for Kids. "More than sixty percent of Christians accept Christ as savior before their 13th birthday,” Yoder says. “Keys for Kids has a long history of leading children to Christ. I want to not only continue doing that, but also do much more."
He adds, “I’ve been listening to Children’s Bible Hour for decades,” Yoder says. “So when this opportunity arose, I felt the Lord leading me to apply. I can't wait to work with this amazing team as we strive to meet and exceed the ministry’s mission!"
Yoder is passionate about expanding the ministry’s outreach in multiple ways. He plans to discuss his vision for the future of Keys for Kids at the upcoming banquet on Oct. 22 at the Pinnacle Center in Hudsonville, Mich.
“I believe the Board made an excellent choice,” existing Executive Director Terre Ritchie states. “Greg and I go way back, and I know his character and beliefs will position him to serve the Lord in this capacity. I’m excited to see how his leadership will impact the Kingdom.”
After serving Keys for Kids Ministries in various roles, such as executive director and board member, Terre Ritchie will retire as executive director on Aug. 13. “We thank Terre for her 25 years of service in her roles as executive director and board member,” Culver says. “She and her passion for children’s ministry leadership will definitely be missed!”
